With shorter winter days, less water is lost to evaporation and it’s not necessary to add water very often. During the summer, the sun and wind combine to evaporate water more quickly. If you are adding water once a week or more, you may have a leak.

How can I tell if my pool leaks?

The most reliable test for pool leaks is the bucket test. Place a bucket on the top pool step and fill it with water level with the level of water in the pool. In 24 hours, compare the level of water in the bucket to the level of water in the pool. If the level of water in the pool is lower, you probably have a leak. Do salt pools still need service?
