Attention pool and spa owners in the Newport Coast, Newport Beach, and Laguna Nigel areas.  The US Consumer Product Safety Protection Commission has issued two very important equipment recalls that may affect your spa or pool.

Spa Drain Suction Covers

Spa drain covers are designed to be a safety device.  These covers are not safe.  The round covers are black and silver and were installed in select spas manufactured by Catalina Spas, Four Winds Spas, Dimension One Spas, and Sunrise Spas from June 2011 to June 2013.   Read here for full recall details.

Ultraviolet Sanitizing  Systems

Ultraviolet systems are sometimes used in conjunction with chlorine to sanitize the water in swimming pools.  The ParamountTrident Series 2 (UV II) Ultraviolet Sanitation Systems for pools has been recalled for fire hazard.   Some pool companies sold these products between September 2013 and January 2014.  Full recall details are detailed here.
