January is a time to make resolutions that will be broken before February. It doesn't…
Newport Beach Pool Service Reminds You to Pool Safely This Summer
Memorial Day has passed. That’s the “official” unofficial start of the summer swimming season. Beachside Pool Service, the family-owned Newport Beach pool service that loves families reminds you to pool safely this season.
Water Watchers are Your First Defense
Every time you pool, pool with a designated water watcher. A water watcher is an adult that is responsible for the safety of every swimmer in the pool. A water watcher:
- never leaves children unattended
- scans the bottom of the pool periodically
- knows where all pool safety equipment is stored and knows how to use it
- keeps a phone handy for 911 calls and does not chat on the phone while swimmers are in the pool
Make sure the designated water watcher knows CPR and the address of the pool in case of emergency.

Outer Barriers Are Your Secondary Defense
Make sure you have barriers around your pool or spa. Use a fence that is a minimum of 4 feet tall to keep out toddlers, small children, pets, and pests.
Fences should have self-closing and self-latching gates that open outwards from the pool.
If your house serves as the fourth side of the pool, make sure you have a door alarm to let you know when the door to the pool has opened.
Install pool alarms on the side of the pool or use a floating pool alarm. These alarms sound when someone (child or pet) enters the water.
Keep Pool Water Clear
Do not let an algae bloom or debris obscure your view of the bottom of the pool. Even if you are not using the pool or the pool is at an uninhabited home you must run the pool pump and keep an adequate amount of sanitizer in the water.
If the pool will not be used for an extended period of time, secure the pool with a child-safe pool cover.
If a child or pet falls into a dirty, swampy pool they might not be found in time to perform CPR successfully.
Beachside Pool Service the Newport Beach Pool Service that Cares
While pool safely tips may seem common sense, they are worth repeating every swimming season. Beachside Pool Service is the Newport Beach pool service that cares about more than your pool. We care about your family too.
That’s why when we service your pool, we pay attention to the pH. If pH is too high or low, your eyes get red. We pay attention to your sanitizer levels. Beachside Pool Service will always make sure your pool has the chlorine to keep the water clean and safe and bromine for your spa or hot tub.
We believe pool and spa ownership should be a joy, not a headache. Call (949) 939-0023 or Click to find out how affordable professional Newport Beach pool service can be.
