There is almost no force on earth more destructive than water. If you don’t think water is destructive, take a trip to the Grand Canyon. Surface Pool Repairs

Over the years you have probably had to have a repair to your pool heater or pump. When you think pool repair, you probably think pool equipment repair. But the surface of your pool can need repair as well. Cracking, hollow spots, and chipping are not uncommon. If you have a plaster surface, it can wear away as well.

Beachside Pool Service can repair these cracks and chips to restore the look of your pool. In addition, an acid wash (or drain and clean) can remove stains by removing a very thin layer of plaster or gunite.

However, if you want to update the look of your pool, think about upgrading your pool surface with something different.

Alternative Pool Finishes

The days of plain white plaster are over. If you have a plain white surface pool, consider applying one of these pool finishes as a part of your pool repair.

Aggregate Finishes.   Aggregate finishes such as Diamond Brite allow homeowners to achieve dramatic effects and natural lagoon appearances. The aggregates are a mixture of quartz and plaster and result in a slightly textured finish. The appearance of aggregates is achieved by mixing the colored quartz stone with enhanced plaster, applying this mixture to the surface of the pool, and then removing the outer layer to uncover the pieces of stone. Aggregates last longer than plaster, and some aggregate products actually reduce or prevent staining.

Pebbled Aggregate. For a more natural look to your pool area, you can finish the interior pool surface with a pebbled aggregate like Pebble Tec. The pebbled surface mimics the appearance of real river rocks. Tightly fused pebbles appear as stones lining the pool’s bottom and sides. This surface resists staining and chemical damage, so it is durable.

Glass Tile. You might have seen glass tile used as a decorative feature on the waterline, under the pool coping. But have you ever seen glass tile used on the entire pool surface? It is a hot trend in high end pools.  If you’ve got the budget, glass tiles will add an unmatched shimmer to your water day and night. It can even be applied in a mural!
